ERGOM is a Polish company and a leader among suppliers of electrotechnical products, exporting its goods to over 50 countries worldwide. Its extensive portfolio includes tens of thousands of products across industries such as electrotechnics, energy, telecommunications, medical, automotive, and construction. This made completing our assigned task even more satisfying—delivering customized tools (new templates and scripts for calculating table contents) for the production of a 1,100+ page catalog!

          

Exactly 10 days – that’s how long it took from the moment the client independently produced the first page to the completion of the final DTP proofreading! Over 1,100 pages of the publication showcased 40,000 product implementations. The catalog was produced using the product database, which simultaneously feeds the B2B platform (Magento) at www.ergom.com.

To present customers with a complete and clear technical specification, several functional solutions were implemented to streamline the process of creating complex tables:

• Automatic adjustment of table column widths, taking into account both header row content and the content of base row cells
• Aggregation of product logistic variants (packaging) into a single table row
• Intelligent selection of table columns to differentiate product variants
• Advanced rules for merging table cells based on predefined criteria (e.g., for the same cross-section)
