Aluprof S.A. supplies aluminum systems for the construction industry across Europe and the United States. The company’s product range includes over 5,000 items, including window and door systems, facade systems, shutters, gates, grilles, and mosquito nets.

Requirements and needs

International operations and a product database containing thousands of items were the two key factors shaping the scope and final form of the implementation. The client required a solution that would:

  • Eliminate errors caused by human factors
  • Ensure data consistency across all platforms
  • Significantly reduce the time required to publish new versions of the product catalog
  • Enhance the functionality of the product website
  • Provide strong support for international sales

Product database

The starting point was the design and implementation of a PIM system that serves as the foundation for managing all product information. It is also the basis for creating automated publications, such as extensive product catalogs (details below). The database we developed currently supports 9 language versions, with the option to add more without any limitations.

Product catalog

The Aluprof product catalog is a 500-page publication that simultaneously includes four language versions in a single document. Providing product information in the customer’s native language is a standard practice that significantly increases the chances of boosting sales in a given region. The solutions implemented allow the catalog to be automatically generated in two formats: a single language or a combination of several language layers.

The introduction of this modern product catalog has enabled Aluprof to sell its products in new markets. Replacing the set of four languages in the catalog with four entirely new ones is an automated process, drastically reducing the time needed to produce new sales materials and facilitating systematic sales expansion.

Product website

The product e-catalog, integrated into the company’s website, is entirely powered by the same database used to produce printed product catalogs. This ensures data consistency across all communication channels with customers, maintaining up-to-date, high-quality information.

The website includes two product search methods:

  • Two-level attribute filtering – Global system-level filters combined with product-specific attribute filters at the chapter level
  • Full-text search with graphical suggestions – For quick and intuitive navigation

The e-catalog is available in nine language versions, meeting the crucial business requirement of providing information in the native language of the audience, which is essential for a company operating in numerous international markets.
